Sinful Colors - Energetic Red

The weather is finally getting a lot warmer these days. And besides spring pastel nail colors, I'm in love with some bright polishes! Last week I saw a new Sinful Colors display at my local Rite Aid featuring 8 rich and bright shades that's perfect for spring/summer. I picked Energetic Red and Dressed to Kill, both I felt will get the most wear out of all shades!

Energetic Red, 2 coats (+ 1 coat Seche Vite Top Coat)

Left to Right: Citrine, Dressed to Kill, Energetic Red, Outrages, Why Not, Clementine, Let's Meet, and Exotic Green.

I quickly took this display picture with my phone. Not sure how this new collection is called, let's just call it "Wow Pop Collection" XD This collection is more comic/superhero related (as shown on the display), all these shades are so bright and vibrant! I believe these are all cream polishes. I know there are a couple new superhero movies coming out, Marvel's The Avengers and The Amazing Spider-ManI know OPI will release a Spider-Man limited edition in May. If you know what comics/superhero this Sinful Colors collection is related, please let me know in the comment section!

If you wonder how OPI's Spider-Man collection will look like, here is a sneak peek!
OPI Limited Edition Spider-Man Collection (Source: OPI Facebook), available in May 2012 with 6 heroic shades & the newest shimmering green Shatter. Left to Right: Shatter the Scales, Your Web or Mine?, Call Me Gwen-Ever, Into the Night, My Boyfriend Scales Walls, Number One Nemesis and Just Spotted the Lizard. These are so pretty! I especially look forward to Into the Night, Number One Nemesis and Just Spotted the Lizard!!!

Energetic Red, 2 coats (+ 1 coat Seche Vite Top Coat)

Ok, back to Sinful Colors... This Energetic Red is a beautiful bright coral/orange type of red, but more on the red side, definitely not your typical classic red. The color is intense and bold, also very pigmented. I haven't tried any of SC's cream polishes in the past (except black and white), and was pretty impressed with this one! The consistency was pretty good, not too thick and not too thin! It's very buttery and smooth to apply, not streaky at all! Opacity is wonderful! I can get about 90-95% of the opacity with just 1 coat, but I went for 2 coats here! Drying time was nothing special and I waited a bit longer just to make sure I won't have any dents later on. Overall, I was pretty pleased with this polish as well as the formulation! Great color and easy application!

  1. I picked up a couple of these polishes today! I got Clementine and Lets Meet. Clementine is cream and Lets Meet has some shimmer to it.
