Sinful Colors Slate

I broke one of my finger nails due to some house cleanings last weekend ~_~ not fun when that happened! I didn't want to trim them all short so I reshaped them to round shape, but wan't quite happy with it... I still like my old square nail shape.

Ok, move on to Sinful Colors Slate, it's a medium tone grey with very fine shimmers. Think of concrete grey under the sunlight! I think it's a great color to wear especially for fall/winter. It's not too dark or too light and goes well with many darker fall/winter outfits. The shimmers are more obvious under the sunlight, yet in a quite subtle way.

The formulation was pretty good, not too thin or too thick. The first coat was quite sheer, but can achieve the almost-full opacity on the 2 coat. I went for 3 coats followed by Seche Vite dry fast top coat. Drying time was pretty average, but ok for 3 coats.

Would you wear it? What would you do when you break one of your nails? Do you reshape all the nails, or just wait for it to grow back?

Thanks for reading and have a great evening! ♥

Sinful Colors Mint Apple

Even though the weather is still in the highest of 87-91°F range (about 31-33°C), I'm so glad that this week is officially the last week of Summer! (hooray!^^) In the celebration of the last week of summer, I have a lovely yummy summer nail shade to show you today. Sinful Colors Mint Apple is a very cute and pretty cream pastel green with very fine shimmers. You can barely see the shimmers, but they are there.

The consistency was quite thick and a bit gooey, but not streaky as long as you apply it faster. 2 coats will achieve the full opacity as the pictures you see here. Pretty easy to work with and the drying time was quite standard. Mint Apple definitely falls into the minty family of China Glaze For Audrey, Wet n Wild I Need a Refresh-Mint, and Revlon Minted. It's really a nice shade!

Sinful Colors Kissy

Another "fall appropriate" nail shade today! You can probably tell from my recent nail shades that I'm so so so ready for fall, unfortunately these two days the weather here in southern California has been crazily HOT! >"< The highest was about 106°F (about 41°C) yesterday, and today will be the same as well ~_~

Speaking of Kissy, it's a blueish green jelly base packed with tiny flecks and micro shimmers. In real life, it shows more dark green than blue both in the bottle and on the nails. The formulation was ok, pretty easy to work with. The first coat was quite sheer and showed more blue, but once layered, it turned more green, darker green that's very pretty and suitable for fall. For the swatch, I applied 3 coats plus Seche Vite dry fast top coat. The consistency was quite thin and a tad bit on the running side, but still pretty easy to work with in my opinion. The only downside is that it did stain my nails, so I recommend using base coat underneath to protect your nails from staining.

What nail polish are you wearing for the weekend?

Sinful Colors Secret Admirer

When I picked this up at the store, I didn't think much but thought it's a pretty shade for fall/winter seasons. I was very impressed when I put it on and really really loved it! Secret Admirer is a black base polish with tons of silver shimmers, a dark charcoal/gunmetal type of shade.

The formulation is fabulous! It goes on so smooth and the application is so easy to work with. Another 1-coat polish, but I went for 2 coats! It dries fairly fast with a glossy finish. Great consistency, too! It looks beautiful in the bottle and translates very well onto nails.
Overall, I am very very pleased with the quality of this polish and would definitely repurchase and highly recommend it! I must say I'm not a huge fan of black polishes in general, but this one is an exception! It's so so so so pretty and made me so happy! LOVE LOVE LOVE! ^_^

Sinful Colors Ruby Ruby

I think this is going to be one of my favorite cream nail polishes! Ruby Ruby is a beautiful, classic red that is not too light or too dark. It's bold and bright yet not too bright like neons. I can see this goes well with many different skin tones, and really, you just can't go wrong with this beautiful vintage red!

The formulation is won....derrrr...fullll!!! high-end quality! It goes on super smooth and very easy to work with. The consistency is thin, yet not too watery. It's almost 100% opaque (a.k.a. not see-through) after one coat, and two coats will achieve the full opacity as the pictures shown here. Very pigmented! It has a high shine glossy finish, but I applied another layer of Seche Vite for extra shine and protection^^

The red on my thumb in the picture above is probably the closest to the actual red in real life. My other pictures shown here are a bit lighter toward tomato-red, but it's actually slightly darker in real life, think of classic, vintage red!

I was very impressed with this nail polish! And the best part, it's only $0.99 at Walgreens! ($1.99 when not on sale) LOVE LOVE LOVE this red!

Thanks for reading and have a wonderful and relaxing Sunday evening!  ♥

Sinful Colors Gone Platinum

I picked up some Sinful Colors polishes yesterday that're on sale at Walgreens this week through Saturday. And this Gone Platinum was the first one that caught my attention! I think metallic and purple are going to be big this fall/winter, and I love purple! It's a beautiful metallic shimmer purple, reminds me of NARS Diamond Life (see here and here).

The formula was more on the thick and gloopy side, didn't do much of the "self-leveled", yet still workable. One coat was almost opaque, but I went for 2, followed by 1 coat of Seche Vite top coat. Very beautiful, love it! I really can't wait for fall to come, can't stand for the warm weather anymore (high 88-89°F, no A/C >"<)....

Expect more Sinful Colors to come, I can't wait to swatch all of them!!!

Did you pick up any Sinful Colors this week? what shades? any recommendations?^^

Sinful Colors - Energetic Red

The weather is finally getting a lot warmer these days. And besides spring pastel nail colors, I'm in love with some bright polishes! Last week I saw a new Sinful Colors display at my local Rite Aid featuring 8 rich and bright shades that's perfect for spring/summer. I picked Energetic Red and Dressed to Kill, both I felt will get the most wear out of all shades!

Energetic Red, 2 coats (+ 1 coat Seche Vite Top Coat)

Left to Right: Citrine, Dressed to Kill, Energetic Red, Outrages, Why Not, Clementine, Let's Meet, and Exotic Green.

I quickly took this display picture with my phone. Not sure how this new collection is called, let's just call it "Wow Pop Collection" XD This collection is more comic/superhero related (as shown on the display), all these shades are so bright and vibrant! I believe these are all cream polishes. I know there are a couple new superhero movies coming out, Marvel's The Avengers and The Amazing Spider-Man. I know OPI will release a Spider-Man limited edition in May. If you know what comics/superhero this Sinful Colors collection is related, please let me know in the comment section!

Tutorial: The Hunger Games Katniss Everdeen Inspired Flame Nail Art

Happy Friday ♥ Today I'm going to show you how to easily create the flame nail art. This flame nail art is inspired by the movie The Hunger Games (that's coming out this week!) Katniss Everdeen's nail. In The Hunger Games book, Katniss gets the flame nail art painted before her interview at the Capitol, and she continues to wear the nail art during the Hunger Games.

St. Patrick's Day Nail Art #2

Happy Friday ❤ Here's another nail art for tomorrow's St. Patrick's Day! This time I only used two shades to create this nail art. I think green and gold together are perfect for this day, what's St. Patrick's Day without a gold pot? ^-^

Review: Sinful Colors Professional Nail Enamel - Flirting Nails

Hello everyone. Today I'd like to share my thoughts about 'Flirting Nails' nail polish  from Sinful Colors I got the other day at Rite Aid (my haul here). This is my very first Sinful Colors nail polish. I was drawn by the quality of the bottle/packaging as well as their diverse fun shades, I thought I might give it a try since it's also reasonably priced (regular price only $1.99, I'm sure there'll be sales sometime^^). As always, I was so interested in the neutral shades so I picked this one, Flirting Nails, with no expectation. Surprisingly, I loved this shade a lot that I kept them on for almost 5 days. ♥

Rite Aid Haul

This week Rite Aid is having 40% off sale on Revlon face and eye cosmetics, all Wet n Wild cosmetics and all Almay eye cosmetics and makeup removers. I thought it's a good time to stock up my favorite Almay removers and try some new things^^

♥ Softsoap antibacterial hand soap. There're some Softsoap hand soap on sale for only 97 cents! but this one has "antibacterial, eliminates 99% of germs" on the packaging so I got this, gotta make sure everybody's hands are germs free when coming home from outside and throughout the day! I tried it last night, it was not harsh on the hands at all (surprised surprised!). It did not dry out my hands and the smell was soft and light.

♥ Almay eye makeup remover pads. I have used so many of these already. It's the best drugstore eye makeup remover pads I have ever used (to remove long wear gel/creme eyeliners and waterproof mascaras!!), great for use at home and travel!

♥ Wet n Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Trio in 381B Sweet as Candy. I still use Wet n Wild Color Icon eyeshadow trio in 335 Silent Treatment sometimes and I like it a lot, especially the light pink brow bone shade and the purple/silver taupe eyelid shade! So I wanted to try other shades from this line, but only shades that's in my comfort zones. I think  Sweet as Candy trio is a sweet ice cream shades that's great for spring and summer, plus... it's neutral!!! ha ha ha I can't wait to try them. (they're only $1.79 +tax after 40% off!)

♥ Sinful Colors nail polish in the shade Flirting Nails. This is my first Sinful Colors nail polish. This seems like an interesting and beautiful gold/nude shade and the quality of this gold is quite good, I thought it's worth trying. (regular price $1.99)

♥ Wet n Wild Mega Eyes Creme Eyeliner. I've heard so many good reviews about this one, many have said that this is compatible to MAC's Fluidline blacktrack so I wanted to try it myself since my MAC fluidline cream eyeliner is running low. ($2.39 + tax after 40% off)
